Ihave been painfully quiet around here. I had goals for the blog that maybe have changed a bit. I have worked for myself as a maker of things – all sorts of things – my entire life. I had the honor of raising two children while making things to provide for them. We had a pretty good time. Hey, it wasn’t all roses, but we had a pretty good time and I now have two children that I am immensely proud of that have turned into pretty awesome adults.
So, over the last few years I have asked myself many times, what’s next? Where do I go with my business? In February I opened a booth in a local store here in Chattanooga. I sell furniture I have brought in off the street like a homeless child and given it a bit of a rehab. I am loving this! Lots of time in the workshop with lots of TOOLS! I have discovered not everyone loves to sand furniture. What is up with that? It is the most soothing thing ever.
I have tried a few things, a tweak here, an adventure there, and here I am, back where I started in the 5th grade. I am still working on furniture. I LOVE doing that. But, I have found that I need to go back to what I know best at the same time – making gifts and fun items for your home.
